How does an opportunity to step away from the demands of daily life and spend leisurely, creative time with like-minded makers sound? Join us for knitting, crocheting, spinning or whatever your creative hands desire!
Our twice-a-year retreat provides space for simple relaxation, learning new skills or sharpening existing ones, getting help with knitting projects, traveling to Local Yarn Shops, exploring the 26 acres of beautiful grounds at the retreat house, enjoying someone else's delicious cooking, participating in a weekend-long Yarn Swap or in the Saturday evening Fashion Show!

Full Event: US$ 378.00
Date and Time: Thursday, April 30 - May 3, 2026. Check-in begins at 1 pm on Thursday. Check-out by 12pm on Sunday.
Details: This option includes 3 overnight stays and 9 meals. Meals include: Thursday dinner; Friday and Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner; and Sunday brunch.
Fri-Sun option: US$ 259.00
Date and Time: Friday, May 1- May 3, 2026. Check-in begins on Friday at 7:30am. Check-out by 12pm on Sunday.
Details: This option includes 2 overnight stays and 6 meals: (Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday; breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday; and brunch on Sunday).
Commuter option: US$ 88.00
Date and Time: Friday, May 01 and/or Saturday, May 02. Check-in begins each day at 7:30am and check-out by 8:00pm.

Retreat Classes for Spring, 2026
"Steeking 101” with Erik Gleason on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 1:30pm (90-120 minutes)
Erik is an expert in sheep breeds, their wool, and how it works in knitted garments, as well as a master of moving wool from sheep to sweater! You can find his adventures on IG! In this class, Erik will explain how, why, and when steeking is useful in garments. Then, he will walk us through the prep, planning and execution involved in the not-no-scary art of steeking in a low-stakes atmosphere! (Class included with full/Fri-Sunday/Fri commuter registrations)
Class prep is essential: Homework will be emailed to all retreat registrants.

Erik Gleason knits, spins, gardens, and spreads his wooly knowledge from his home in Portland, Oregon. He is a master of working from sheep to sweater.
“4 Hacks to Save Your Knitting (or crocheting) Life” with Katie Burk on Saturday, May 2, at 10:00am (60 minutes)
Katie is the SGO for Twice Sheared Sheep, an ever-contagious harbinger of knitting joy, a social media influencer to over 145K of us fiber-loving humans, and a possessor of the sparkling ability to bring people together! She will be taking a break from her wildly wooly event travel schedule, and Zooming in to our retreat from Chicago, just for us! She will walk through several innovative methods for improving knitting and crochet essentials such as: easy keeping track of your rows, how to (really)measure gauge, plus a new way to tame yarn tangles while doing colorwork! No special prep necessary. Just bring yourself! (Class included with full/Fri-Sunday/Saturday commuter registrations)

Retreat Activities for Spring, 2026
Yarn Swap (all weekend)
De-stash and/or build your stash by ‘shopping’ the free and sale tables. If you have yarn you would like to sell or give away, put it in a plastic bag and label it with your name and the price you are asking or mark it ‘free’. Books and other fiber notions may also be placed on the free or sale tables. If your item is on the sale table, please ensure the item is clearly labeled with your name and your asking price. Bring cash for shopping, and cash to make change if you are selling.
Fashion Show (Saturday Night)
Get ready to "walk the runway!" Inspire your fiber friends in a casual, fun atmosphere with the best MC's around! If you'd like to participate, please bring up to 3 items to show & share. If possible, please provide the pattern name and description of yarn used. Spectators welcome!
Must-haves for the retreat
Bring personal care items (soap, shampoo, etc.) but most importantly: Don't forget to bring a bath towel and wash cloth(s)!
Bring your knitting project(s), a special chair, light, foot stool, extension cord(s), ear plugs, headphones, favorite pillow, tablets, books etc., basically anything that you feel would make your stay cozier! Wi-fi is provided.
Bring Yarn Swap and Fashion Show items (optional).
Bring any special food or beverages you'd like (refrigerator space is available), and snacks. Want to bring snacks or drinks to share? There is a large, round table in the main room for sharing. Coffee, tea and water will be available. Feel free to bring any other beverage of choice, including adult beverages.

Payment is due in full at the time of registration. No refunds will be issued.
Cancellation Policy
No refunds will be issued. If you have an emergency and need to cancel, please contact the event coordinator to find out if anyone is on the waitlist. If no one is on the waitlist, you are responsible for finding your replacement. All communications and financial arrangements will need to be made through you and your replacement (whether or not it is someone from a waitlist).
